A photo taken at the scene of a fatal motorcycle crash in Kentucky has gone viral this week, with many claiming they can see the accident victim's spirit leaving his body.<br />
<br />
The image, showing what seems to be a gray or white vertical form in the air above two ambulances, was photographed and shared on social media by Kentucky resident Saul Vazquez.<br />
<br />
"I pulled over roll the passenger side window and snap the picture," Mr. Vazquez posted on his Facebook post of the photo, which as of today has nearly 9,000 shares.<br />
<br />
A People magazine online article was headlined "Photo of Fatal Accident Become Online Sensation Over Claims It Shows Victim's Spirit." Others have suggested it's not a spirit but instead an angel. Stories of miracles or seemingly supernatural events at the scene of accidents are not uncommon; last year police officers who helped rescue a baby from an overturned car in a Utah river claimed that they heard an unexplained voice calling from the car—despite the fact that the mother had been dead for hours.<br />
<br />
There are several reasons to suspect that the image may not be paranormal, but the best (and most obvious) reason to doubt that the whitish blur is the spirit of the accident victim appears in the news story about the incident: "He [the motorcylist] was transported to the hospital where he later died." Since the motorcyclist wasn't dead when the photo was taken, it would seem very unlikely that his spirit would be leaving his body at that time.<br />
<br />
If spirits (or angels) can be photographed at scenes of tragic accidents—especially those involving many victims—then they should appear regularly. News photos and video of train, plane, and bus accidents, for example, should reveal ghostly images in and around the wreckage. In fact, if the soul leaves the body at death (as theology and ghost folklore suggest), then hospitals—not graveyards nor haunted houses—should be filled with ghosts and blurry white images in the hallways and emergency rooms.<br />
The idea that the soul can somehow be quantified or recorded at the time of death goes back over a century. The most famous scientific experiment on that topic was conducted by Dr. Duncan MacDougall, who in 1907 tried to measure the weight of the soul. He weighed a half-dozen terminally ill patients before, during, and after death, concluding that there was an average of 21 grams difference in the weight of the bodies before and after death. His experiments were badly designed, however, with a tiny sample size and crude measurement tools. More modern measurements find no such effect, though the myth that the human soul weighs 21 grams remains today.<br />
<br />
So if the vertical whitish thing in the photo isn't a ghost, what is it?<br />
<br />
Vazquez has denied that the image has been altered, and there's no reason to think it has. It's much more likely to be an ordinary object that has taken on a spooky context because of the circumstances; in other words that same photo could likely have been taken at that same spot a day earlier, and no one would have associated it with anything odd or tragic.<br />
<br />
Writer Hemant Mehta offered the following explanation on his blog: "It could easily be a discolored tree trunk. Seriously. I pulled up a Google Maps image of Highway 15 near Stanton, Kentucky where the accident took place. I don't know if this is the exact spot, but it was *very* easy to find a discolored tree trunk in the image."<br />
<br />
It's difficult to tell what exactly the image is, but the image shows other foliage emerging from the shade of the trees in the same area; a tree trunk or light-colored branch is a real possibility. It could also be smoke from the wreck, though the motorcycle seems to be off to one side.<br />
<br />
In any event, it's noteworthy that apparently no one at the scene reported seeing anything unusual, nor the supposed apparition just above them.<br />
<br />
There's also the question of what color the soul, spirit, or ghost is—or would be. Ghosts are often assumed to be invisible, though they are also claimed to appear in a wide variety of forms including white round spots in photos (known as orbs in ghost hunting lingo); vague, shadow-like mists; whitish blobs; and even appearing completely like an ordinary person.<br />
<br />
In fact the public's idea of what a soul or spirit looks like has changed over time; in his book "The Haunted: A Social History of Ghosts" researcher Owen Davies of the University of Hertsfordshire notes the "long tradition of Christian pictorial representations of souls ascending to heaven in the form of naked children. They, along with doves, symbolized the innocence and purity of the soul once freed from the polluted body." The idea that a vaguely human-shaped misty white form would be a soul is a fairly modern idea.<br />
<br />
Because people love a mystery, not to mention sharing weird photos on social media, especially when the theme involves the afterlife, angels, and the dead, it's not surprising that this ghost photo went viral.<br />

Well, this could be embarrassing – for dinosaurs.<br />
<br />
A new study on bird vocalizations suggests some dinosaurs might have made mumbling coos instead of the great roars we hear in our collective imagination.<br />
<br />
In the study, set to appear in the August issue of the journal Evolution, a team of researchers examined the evolution of closed-mouth vocalizations -- sounds birds (descendants of dinosaurs) make by pushing air into a pouch in the esophagus, with the beak closed. They're specialized sounds used for mating or defense of territory, as opposed to ordinary "conversation." The little "coos" mourning doves make, for example, are closed-mouth vocalizations.<br />

The scientists looked at how broadly such vocalization capability was distributed, studying 208 bird species. It turned out that 52 species used closed-mouth vocalizations.<br />

Birds belong to the group archosaurs, which also includes crocodiles and dinosaurs. The team found that closed-mouth vocalization has evolved at least 16 times in the group. And, only birds the size of doves or larger, they noted, "spoke" with closed beaks (see the video below for an example of one of the biggest birds we have, an ostrich, making closed-mouth vocalizations).<br />

Why only larger birds? The researchers say for larger bodies the wall of the esophageal pouch is less tense than in smaller bodies and thus easier to inflate.<br />

With the last living archosaurs -- birds and crocodiles -- communicating in this way, and because so many dinosaurs had large bodies, the researchers suggest closed-mouth vocalization was likely to be in the vocal repertoire of some dinos.<br />

"A cool thing about this work is the demonstration that closed-mouth behavior evolved many times," said lead author Tobias Riede, of Midwestern University, in a statement. "That suggests it can emerge fairly easily and be incorporated into mating displays."<br />

As of now, the team hastens to add, no one has yet proven what dinosaurs really sounded like. But, they say, the key to finding out may lie with the birds we see just outside our windows.<br />
<br />
"To make any kind of sense of what non-avian dinosaurs sounded like, we need to understand how living birds vocalize," said study co-author Julia Clarke, of the University of Texas at Austin.<br />
<br />
Of course, she added, "this makes for a very different Jurassic world. Not only were dinosaurs feathered, but they may have had bulging necks and made booming, closed-mouth sounds."

Cancers in animals could have increased slightly after our planet was blanketed with radiation from two prehistoric supernovae, according to new research.</div>

The star explosions took place between 1.7 million and 8.7 million years ago, irradiating the landscape with high-energy cosmic rays. Cosmic rays hit Earth every day, but the stellar explosions would have increased the radiation striking our planet.</div>

When the cosmic rays hit molecules in our atmosphere, a cascade of secondary particles such as X-rays, protons and muons are produced. Some muon radiation is normal, but the supernovae would have temporarily tripled the dose for land animals and animals living in shallow waters, said co-author Adrian Melott, a University of Kansas physics researcher, in a statement.</div>

The radiation would have given animals the equivalent dose of one additional CT scan in radiation per year. CT scans take X-ray images from several angles to let doctors look inside tumors and other objects. The night sky also would have bathed in blue light from the explosions, making it difficult for animals to sleep.</div>

Some researchers have speculated that there could be a link between increased cosmic rays and a cooler climate on Earth, although that link isn't proven for sure. (Simply put, the theory associates cosmic rays with aerosols, which could produce clouds, which in turn reduces the amount of solar radiation on the surface.) If a connection could be made, Melott said it is possible the supernovae were associated with a known, smaller mass extinction 2.59 million years ago when Earth went through repeated ice ages.</div>

"There was climate change around this time," Melott said. "Africa dried out, and a lot of the forest turned into savannah. Even the basic tech sheet of this jet car is crazy enough. Quite a few cars of this ilk make do with one turbine engine, but the Canadian man named Ryan McQueen who built this car decided that two Rolls-Royce units were necessary for his car. Unsurprisingly, a lot of time and money went into making this car that's been appropriately christened "Insanity." The total build process took 12 years, with seven of those dedicated to fabricating the chassis and bodywork, and the total build price allegedly totals to somewhere in the region of 90,000 Canadian dollars. It also seems money did get a little bit tight at some point, the only way McQueen could successfully bid for the two Rolls-Royce engines at auction was to sell his Chevrolet Corvette.</div>

What's perhaps more amazing about the Insanity project is that McQueen had no formal prior technical training. In fact, a lot of the engineering techniques involved with building the Insanity jet car were self-taught as progress on the project was made - at first, he didn't even know how to properly use the welding machine! All things considered, then, what McQueen's created here is nothing short of extraordinary. It's not everyday, after all, that you come across a 400 mph+ jet car that was built in someone's garage, and it's even rarer to find such a venture being brought about by someone on their lonesome with no prior experience in building a car of this scale. We well and truly doff our caps to you, Mr McQueen!</div>

People suck. Case in point, a Californian named Richard Taylor, who spent time working for the late Paul Walker at his Valencia, CA garage. Less than 24 hours after Walker's death in 2013, Taylor allegedly swiped over 30 cars from the warehouse, hiding them in a bid to extort money from the late actor's family. The Walker clan sued to get the cars or their value back, and now, the two sides have a deal.<br />

"It was settled amicably and one of the conditions is that we're getting things back," the Walker family's attorney said.<br />

That doesn't mean every car Taylor allegedly took will return, of course. According to The Drive, while Taylor hid the cars to try and extort Walker's family, the original filing claimed he also sold some possessions to line his own pockets. Walker's collection, which you can see more of in a Smoking Tire video from December 2013, is immense. It includes multiple JDM cars, including Nissan Skylines and Silvias, multiple 1995 BMW M3s, a 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, and a whole heap of others. As The Drive explains it, Walker's estate is getting the cars back, but it doesn't mean they'll hang on to all the vehicles. The family has auctioned off a few different cars since the star's death, so a similar fate could befall the cars Taylor is returning.<br />

The Walker family's attorney wouldn't reveal any additional terms of the settlement.

Hydraulics lift a portion of the court to expose a sloped driveway that descends into what really should be Wayne's lair. Like in the film, the garage's roof is lined with lights that give it an almost sky-like look that bathes the owner's exotic car collection in an elegant light.<br />

The legendary gigantic sea monster "kraken," or at least something very much like it, might have actually existed, according to a chapter in the recently published book "Dynamic Paleontology" (Springer, 2016).<br />
<br />
Geologist Mark McMenamin of Mount Holyoke College, who authored the chapter, "Deep Bones," believes that such a creature killed the enormous toothy ichthyosaurs of Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park in Nevada.<br />
<br />
Ichthyosaurs were some of the largest marine reptiles of all time, with the species at the park -- from the genus Shonisaurus -- estimated to have measured up to 70 feet long. Ichthyosaurs in general lived from about 250 to 90 million years ago and had a body shape similar to that of today's dolphins.<br />

He says that the Triassic Kraken hypothesis is supported "by a swarm of evidence" that includes:<br />
<br />
The composition of the reptilian victims<br />
The fact that their remains were moved around shortly after their deaths at different times<br />
The victims' ribs were broken by constriction<br />
The presence of a possible fragment of a giant octopus or squid beak<br />
The presence of fossilized dung (coprolites)<br />
The deep water environment of the site, and more.<br />
All ichthyosaur species are thought to have gone extinct due to climate change and their slow rate of evolution that prevented them from properly adapting to rising temperatures.<br />
<br />
"Could climate change have killed the Shonisaurus ichthyosaurs at Berlin Ichthyosaur State Park?" McMenamin asked. "Very unlikely -- wait, no -- impossible."<br />
<br />
He said that climate change does not explain why ichthyosaurs dominate the fossil assemblage, versus having many different types of prehistoric animal remains there. He said the nature of the assemblage also negates another theory: that toxic algae did in the ichthyosaurs.<br />
<br />
"Also, the constriction-cracked ribs pose a problem here, as does the fact that the ichthyosaurs were emplaced at different times," he added.<br />
<br />
Considering the evidence, McMenamin is convinced that a kraken-like giant cephalopod killed the ichthyosaurs at what is now the site of the Nevada park. He believes that the predator belonged to an extinct lineage with characteristics of both octopuses and squids, especially glass squids, which are so named because of the transparent nature of most glass squid species.<br />
<br />
He speculates that the big cephalopod's usual prey would have been deep water fish known as coelacanths, which Shonisaurus also hunted.<br />
<br />
"Thus, there was an element of territoriality to this ancient interaction," McMenamin said. "The conflict between the two large predators became a meal of opportunity for the cephalopod. The kraken was evidently able to take down deep diving shonisaurs at will."<br />
<br />
The kraken hypothesis has not been warmly embraced by McMenamin's colleagues.<br />
<br />
"The problem with the kraken argument is it does not take into account all the other ways those vertebrae could have been re-arranged," Spencer Lucas, paleontologist and curator at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, told DNews in an earlier article.<br />
<br />
"I suppose the kraken argument is a possibility, but one of many, and a highly unusual one."

Having survived being slingshot around Jupiter, NASA's Juno spacecraft turned its camera back on this week and snapped a picture of its new home.<br />

The space probe ended a five-year flight to the biggest planet in the solar system on July 4 with a do-or-die breaking maneuver so it could shed speed and fall into Jupiter's gravity well.<br />
<br />
<br />
Juno will take a couple of months to re-position itself for 37 looping orbits around the planet's poles, coming at closest approach to about 2,600 miles (4,100 kilometers) above Jupiter's cloud tops.<br />
<br />
To avoid as much radiation as possible, Juno will buzz Jupiter only once every 14 days. Even though its instruments are inside a titanium vault, Juno is expected to be nearly electronically fried after 20 months.<br />
<br />
Juno's orbit was designed to maximize the odds of a successful science mission, the primary goal of which is to measure how much water Jupiter contains. That information will serve as a yardstick for calculating how far from the sun the biggest planet formed, setting the stage for everything else in the solar system, including Earth and its fortuitous position conductive to the evolution of life.<br />
<br />
<br />
This week, NASA got its first picture from Juno since its camera was turned back on following the probe's July 4 plunge through Jupiter's radioactive welcome mat.<br />
<br />
The image was taken 9:30 a.m. EDT on Sunday when Juno was 2.7 million miles (4.3 million kilometers) from Jupiter on the outbound leg of the first of two planned 53.5-day capture orbits, NASA said.<br />
<br />
The image, released on Tuesday, shows Jupiter's famed Great Red Spot, a gigantic atmospheric storm that astronomers on Earth have been watching for four centuries.<br />
<br />
<br />
Juno is designed to collect radio signals beaming out from beneath the churning clouds, information that scientists can use to figure how the anti-cyclonic storm managed to get three times bigger than Earth and why it is so long-lived.<br />
<br />
"This scene from JunoCam indicates it survived its first pass through Jupiter's extreme radiation environment without any degradation," lead scientist Scott Bolton, with the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, said in a press release.<br />
<br />
The first high-resolution images of the planet will be taken on Aug. 27 when Juno makes its next close pass to Jupiter, added mission scientist Candice Hansen-Koharcheck, with the Planetary Science Institute in Tucson, Ariz.

There are close calls and then there's this: A foolish cameraman escaping what would've surely been serious injury courtesy of a Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster. For some reason the guy jumps in front of the Aventador as it fires off the line. The supercar was drag racing against a Corvette and we’re 99.9% sure the driver had launch control engaged. That makes this near-miss all the more incredible, with the Lamborghini driver deserving major props for avoiding the cameraman and the Corvette next door<br />

Now if only we could see the Centenario on the track.<br />
The Lamborghini Centenario is one of those ultra-rare and ultra-special supercars able to make news simply by driving down the street. Seriously, that’s all this video really consists of. To be fair, though, we haven’t really seen the Centenario driving. There was a clip of it exiting the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and…well that’s it. This video isn’t exactly filled with heart-racing action but you do get to see the 6.2-liter V12 open up just a bit. The moment is fleeting so make sure not to blink or turn away because you might miss it.<br />
Once deliveries of the supercar begin—all 40 units have been spoken for—we’ll see better clips that showcase the Centenario’s true power. For now, though, this is what we’ve got. It’s better than nothing, right?<br />

Kawasaki Ninja H2R has recorded a 400 km per hour of top speed recently in a stunt. The Turkish professional motorcycle racer Kenan Sofuoglu took the motorcycle on its first ever such run. Last year, the Japanese sportsbike maker built motorcycle achieving a top speed of 348.2 kmph on a deserted runway. After that Kenan Sofuoglu took the motorcycle to a 391 kmph run of late.<br />
<br />
Earlier Kawasaki claimed that this marvelous motorcycle has a top speed of 380 kmph. Surprisingly, Kenan Sofuoglu’s new record has broken that claim as well. The challenge was to achieve the 400 kmph mark in less than 30 seconds. Earlier the 348.2 kmph top speed record was set in a 1.6 kilometers stretch run. Sofuoglu reached the speed mark in 26 seconds during the stunt.<br />

The stunt took place in a morning at a new bridge built across the Gulf of Izmit. The place is situated 50 kilometers away from Istanbul in Turkey. To achieve this success, Kenan had to go through hard training for last four months. He performed the stunt wearing a specially built leather suit.<br />

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is truly an engineering marvel on two wheels. The motorcycle is powered by a 998 cc four cylinder supercharged engine which kicks out 310 hp of peak power at 14,000 rpm, which double the figure of any street legal motorcycles around the world.<br />

<br />
The sharply designed motorcycle has plenty of carbon fibre fairings. The chassis has been built to stay stable at extreme high speeds. It also comes with greater cornering ability and aerodynamic efficiency. To enhance the aerodynamic efficiency of Ninja H2R, Kawasaki took help from its aerospace wing.<br />
<br />
Kenan Sofuoglu has won four Supersport World Championships in 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2015. He joined the Indian Mahi Team which was owned by Indian Cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. After performing the stunt he said that achieving 400 kmph with Kawasaki Ninja H2R was a dream came true.<br />

I know you would have heard this word before now, but I am sure you wonder what does it actually mean, just tag along as I explain in the simplest way what Internet of Things is and its implications.<br />
Not surprised that this topic is becoming an increasingly growing topic of conversation both in the workplace and outside of it. But what exactly is “Internet of Things” and what impact is it going to have on you. Simply put, IoT is the basic concept of connecting any devices with an on and off switch to the internet (and/or to each other). This includes everything from cellphones, coffee makers, washing machines, headphones, lamps, wearable devices and the list keeps going on. As I mentioned earlier so far the gadget or machine has an off/on switch, then such devices/machines can be part of IoT. The IoT is a giant connections of things, the relationship will be between people-people, people-things, and things-things.<br />

<b>How did we get here?</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
Wanting to know how the IoT became a thing at all? To do so, we must look back to beginning: the birth of networking and explosion of consumer technology. But never worry, I won’t bore you with all the details of history. But it is pertinent to note that IoT is as old as internet itself. The history of IoT is extraordinarily dense, if you were to question a designer at IBM in the late 1980s, you would find ideas similar to what we call IoT in use. However, if you ask an emerging startup from the early 2000s, you would find a wave of thinkers taking credit for the idea. The reality is somewhere in between: those who thought ahead about computers expected what we have today.<br />
<br />
<b>How Does This Affects You?</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
The new rule for the future is going to be _“Anything that can be connected, will be connected.”_ The main question is, why on earth would I want so many devices talking to each other? While thinking through this question, a striking answer came to mind. _“say for example I am on my way to a meeting; my car could have access to my calendar and already knows the best route to take, but what of if there was a heavy traffic that is peculiar to busy cities like Lagos, my car can send a message to my colleagues at the meeting that I will be a little late.”_ Whoa!! What an easy life. Here is another beautiful example _“Imagine Arsenal vs Chelsea playing by 4:00pm, immediately it is 3:45pm, your mobile phone sends a message to your generator to come up, at the same time send a message to your satellite decoder telling it what channel to switch to.”_ I can go on and on with examples of how IoT can be applied.<br />
The reality is that the IoT allows for virtually endless opportunities and connections to take place, many of which we can’t even think of or fully understand the impact of today. It’s not hard to see why the IoT is such a hot topic; it certainly opens the door to a lot of opportunities but also challenges. For now, the best thing we can do is educate ourselves about what IoT is and the potential impacts that can be seen on how we work and live.<br />

A tour round Paul Walkers garage..

Some of people love to visit museums and watch various antiques, but some of them want to spend their time watching museum or garage full of different types of cars.<br />

In this case we have no less but tour through the Paul Walker’s garage. At the beginning let’s say first: “Rest in peace man, you are legend and you will always stay.”<br />
<br />
So, are you ready to moisten your eyes and enjoy the view, sound and smell of garage? If you are ready, than, let’s start with the tour!<br />
<br />
Who was followed the life and career of Paul Walker will immediately know that he does not just driving fast cars in the movies, buthe really love furious, fast, and different types of cars in his personal life privately.<br />
<br />
Based on this video we can come to conclusion that he enjoyed drive this kind and types of cars. When we just peek out of the corner of the eye you will realize that this is an awesome museum of his cars. This is his personal collection is huge and here what is in there: there are some Japanese tuning cars – and that is a sign that he was not a fan of only one type of cars.<br />

Then, here are couple of Lamborghinis, BMWs, Ferraris and of course there are not avoiding sub – American muscles cars. And when we walk through it we can see that every car has different colors, performances, and one common thing for all is that all of them are pretty fast and furious. He has car for every opportunity, for every road, for any time. He really knew how to enjoy with his “girls”.<br />
